"Merry" Me!

‘Tis the season and LOVE is in the air! This is the perfect time of year to consider taking your relationship to the next level by popping the big question. And ladies don’t be scared to propose to the man of your dreams, they want to feel special too! So you’re ready to make it happen but not sure how to knock their socks off and create a lasting memory? Here are a few ideas to consider:

•Freeze your ring in an ice cube and drop it in their glass while at your favorite restaurant. When they see what they have in their drink, drop to one knee and ask them to marry you.

•Like sweets? Head to your local bakery and request your sweetie’s favorite cake be made and placed in the display window-with your proposal as the icing on the top! Take a night time stroll by the shop, point to the cake and propose. Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too!

•Take your foodie to their favorite restaurant. Make a menu with your proposal printed on the inside. Have the waiter deliver your special message and once opened, ask for their hand in marriage.

•Breakfast in Bed-Make a scrumptious breakfast complete with eggs, toast and sparkling mimosas. After you’re done eating, let them know you have one more thing left to indulge in…a shiny new engagement ring!

•More of a homebody? Make a rose trail from the front door to the bedroom…create a heart shape with rose petals on the bed and put the ring in the middle. Give them a big kiss at the door and tell them to go see what’s inside your heart.

Good Luck and Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving Reflection

What isn’t there to love about the Thanksgiving season? The seasonal weather, brightly colored leaves, crackling fires on cold nights, kitchen smells reminiscent of decades past and the sounds of love and laughter that come from the men, women and children we hold dear. Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect on the year going by as well as the year to be. I have been blessed beyond measure both personally and professionally this year and as I gather together with my friends and family over the holidays, I am reminded of the true spirit of the season which is filled with all the world’s possibilities.

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? Enjoy the holiday!

A Night of Possibilities Fashion Show

Over the summer, KCEMG was delighted to help produce the “Night of Possibilities” fashion show in Kansas City. The show was an outstanding showcase of Greek wear and one of a kind fashions created by La Shana McGee and members of her family. The entertainment was provided by The Band that Saved the World (awesome band by the way and highly recommended for any event!). Guests were given information regarding the importance of regular cancer screenings and cancer prevention, as this night was dedicated to the memory of La Shana’s parents whose lives were lost to this disease.

All the money raised was donated to a local charity and was so successful that it is now an annual event!

The American Cancer Society is dedicated to helping those with cancer through research, patient services, treatment and education. For more information please visit their website.

Check out some pictures from the show!

Looking for that perfect color combination for your wedding or special event? You’ll definitely “fall” in love with these!

My picks for Fall 2010:

Mocha and Blush Pink
• Warm Gray with any Pink or Purple

Blues are definitely in high style right now for weddings. Shades of navy, blue-black and sapphire make for beautiful autumn wedding décor!

Planner for Hire

Every little girl has dreamed of the day that she marries her Prince Charming. When love is found, a public declaration of it is a legitimate and wonderful reason to celebrate.

Planning a wedding is one of the most elaborate events you will organize in your life, wouldn’t it be more fun to envision your dream and feel like a guest at your own party and have someone else deal with the details? Enter the wedding planner!

Some may consider this as the “easy way out” or even lazy, but a wedding planner is essential to a well planned event. Hiring a wedding planner saves you both time and money by helping you come up with a wedding that is tailored to fit your individual budget and style. Wedding planners are often given discounts on certain goods and services simply because of their connection and involvement in the industry. A wedding planner does in fact add cost to your budget, but a good planner will help you save time and money almost enough to cover the cost of hiring them.

The best wedding planners have a sense of what the latest styles and trends are and know how to incorporate these ideas into the wedding of your dreams, while staying on budget. They are imaginative and resourceful artisans that can help you come up with creative ideas for your special day. Although you may be organized and perhaps approached by well meaning family and friends for assistance, it is best to leave it to the expert who has broader knowledge and experience in the industry. A professional wedding planner has the training and experience to do the groundwork and make sure everything about your wedding works the way you want it to.

So the question is….why hire a wedding planner? Well…..why not? You’ll be glad you did!
